Webelos Woods
Camp Kickapoo, OK, April '99

Scribe’s Journal

The Last Frontier Council once again asked Troop 168 if we would go to Webelos Woods and teach the Webelos orienteering. And, of course, every year we have accepted because it really is an honor to be asked to do this. And, it is where we recruit many Webelos for our troop.

When we went this year, it was really great. All the Webelos figured out how to use the basic parts of a compass and how to find their way. We also learned measuring the height of objects such as trees and flagpoles with sticks and even your fingers and how to figure how far you have traveled by pacing it off. And this time again we recruited a few more Webelos who liked the way our troop is run.
