Not sliced ham again!!!!

Good breakfast of French toast and sausage.  We were the last ones to eat and missed the opening flag ceremony (not our fault ... it was because breakfast took longer than usual).

Mr. Mingus left for a business meeting in Denver.  Mr. Whitacre with Mrs. Kirkpatrick to visit one of Mr. Whitacre's old school friends in Colorado Springs and to buy supplies.

The other adults floated around from area to area to see how the Scouts were doing.

Lunch today was up to us.  The camp brought food to our campsite and we had ham sandwiches, carrots and apple juice.  Three camp staff members joined us.

Not long after lunch, Mr. and Mrs. Matheson dropped by the camp to visit and after hunting around a little, we found their son at the lake with Jared D.  Jared had caught a nice 17 1/2 inch rainbow trout.  Back at camp, Jared got a little help from Mr. Luff and a lot of help from Dr. Brumbaugh on cleaning and cooking the fish in a Dutch oven set up on a camp stove (we had to get permission from the camp director to light the match and burn the stove).

Dinner was in-campsite again.  No general camp-wide flag ceremony tonight, just our own at our campsite.  Ryan L., Spencer M. and Spencer L., with Tory R. calling, performed the flag ceremony to complete a rank advancement requirement.

Our dinner food was delivered by the camp at 5 pm and our choice of chicken fajitas looked an awful lot like sliced ham!  We got flour tortillas, cheese, lettuce, hot salsa and of all things ... HAM!  Luckily, Jared D. was kind enough to take pity on us and share his trout.

After dinner, Scouts and adults scattered around the camp.  Several (Steven E., Mark G., Chris R. Mr. Grimes and Mr. Rhoades) took a hike around the lake and up to J Don Alexander campsite.  Just about then, a call came over our radios that Eric L. was injured, but on our return we found out it wasn't an emergency it seemed over the radio.

From the campsite, many in the troop watched a doe and fawn around the Kiva.  We stayed in camp the rest of the evening.  Tonight's "Brumbaugh Corner" was about sleeping bags.  With a warm, clear, star-filled and full moon night, we get to bed about 10:30.
