From the Scoutmaster's perspective Wild World of Webelos Where do I start? -WOW-what a super performance from the Troop! We started on the Sunday before by just a few of us meeting at Wygant to mow and plan out where everything would be located. Thanks to those who were able to come and mow. Thursday, a few more of us met at the Church, loaded the trailer and went to Wygant to set up camp. Friday evening, everyone showed up pretty much on time and went right to work. The Scouts did a good job of directing traffic and helping the Webelos carry their gear to the campsites and setting up their camp. Our campfire Friday night was fantastic. The OA team did a nice job. The fire worked this time, and even though the Luff family was involved, we did not end up with a tornado! (if you don't know, there are stories there). The adults who prepared and served the cobblers did a great job. Saturday morning started off good with the breakfast crew arriving early. Thanks to Peggy and David for pre-cooking some of the breakfast ingredients to speed things up. The "biscuit crew" did a great job. We did not have any spare Dutch oven capacity to cook them at the camp. When it was time to get up, the scouts did a great job of getting up and around. The classes went great! I had several positive comments on the teaching crews. The logistics crews also did a good job of staying busy making sure the water jugs were full, helping with games, breaking down camp and loading the trailer. Thanks to everyone for their hard work! -- Allen |
