Patrol Box

Here's an innovative plan that divides a patrol box into compartments with today's patrol in mind.

Click on the drawing to download the functional Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.  The spreadsheet lists all measurements and building instructions.  Plus, if your storage needs are slightly different, you can adjust a compartment's dimensions on the worksheet and the other compartments' dimensions adjust automatically as needed.

Be sure to select the tabs at the bottom of the worksheet to see other drawings.

The original drawings for this patrol box were drawn by Paul Rogers.  Our thanks go to Randy Reid, Scoutmaster, Troop 1199, Garland, TX, for permission to offer this plan on our website.

Mr. Reid suggests: "You might want to put two handles on both ends. It makes it easier to balance a heavy box when carrying it. We also put a sheet of galvanized steel on the inside of the door/table top to protect it from the heat of cooking. We used regular piano hinges for the drop down door. They seemed to hold up well."
