A crew of six and a guide meant there were two extra packs and we had to
make two trips at each portage trail. This did not slow us down to much since there
were two scouts to carry each pack on the second trip.

Brad, Jeff and Daniel make their way along the 1500 meter portage trail
into Badwater Lake. More than half of this trail consisted of swamp, marsh and
"moose muck" due to heavy rains in the spring. "Moose muck"
looks like the mud that you just walked over, but when you step on it you will sink up to
your hips.
We took our layover day on Badwater Lake. Our large campsite had
high rocks and deep water to jump off and into.
The wind was blowing our way as we passed Blueberry Island, so out came
the dinning fly and we sailed until the wind died.
